Braces For A Better Smile

Affordable Braces $2995

At New Smiles Texas, we offer orthodontics so that we can best beautify our patients’ smiles. We understand the importance of correcting misaligned or crooked teeth. It is a confidence booster and can help ensure a patient’s teeth remain healthy.

Braces play a major role in dentistry because of the dramatic health benefits, but also because they have become so popular. The demand for this dental procedure has increased dramatically over the past few decades. Millions of people have some type of issue with their teeth. These issues can range from misalignment, gapped teeth, or malocclusion, which can lead to very detrimental dental problems.

All of our Houston-area New Smiles Texas locations offer traditional metal braces, clear ceramic braces, as well as Invisalign, to patients young and old. Just as we offer different types of braces for different periods in people’s lives, our patients request braces for varying reasons. Here are some reasons why you may want to choose either traditional metal braces, clear braces, or Invisalign:

Metal Braces

Comfort - Comfort and braces do not go hand-in-hand although we do our best to ensure every patient is as comfortable as possible while the braces methodically straighten their teeth. Since traditional metal braces work the fastest because they are the strongest, they are also the least comfortable, but it is definitely worth the payoff.

Cost - Metal braces are the least expensive compared to ceramic braces or Invisalign. The cost for our metal braces starts at $1995.

Looks - Metal braces make the most obvious change to a person’s appearance. For patients considering braces, but an option that will cause the least amount of visual change, the ceramic braces or Invisalign may be best.

Timeframe - Traditional metal braces are the most typical choice for braces for several reasons. Metal braces are stronger than ceramic and Invisalign and, for teeth that are severely crooked or misaligned, they are able to straighten teeth quicker.

Clear Braces

Comfort - In a lot of ways, the clear ceramic braces are like traditional metal braces. They are structured in the same way and they have brackets just as the ones with metal braces, except the color scheme is very different.

Cost - Due to the type of material these clear braces are made of, they are slightly more expensive than traditional metal braces, but they aren’t as expensive as Invisalign. These types of braces are still able to fit most budgets.

Looks - As we mentioned, the color scheme is very different. Ceramic braces are made to match the color of the teeth so that the braces aren’t so visible, like metal braces. This is a major benefit, especially considering they can adjust teeth in nearly the same amount of time as traditional metal braces.

Timeframe - Ceramic braces aren’t as strong as metal braces, but they are stronger than Invisalign braces and are still made to correct major problems in the alignment of the teeth and can do so faster than the plastic aligners.

Comfort - When it comes to comfort with braces, the plastic aligners of Invisalign are the best option. They do not pull as strongly, primarily because they aren’t typically used for teeth that require major work. Another plus is that these plastic braces can be removed for up to two hours per day for eating and oral maintenance, like brushing and flossing.

Cost - These are the biggest trend in braces, and for good reason, but they are also the most expensive option for braces. These plastic aligners must be constructed to fit your teeth instead of how traditional metal or ceramic braces are placed on the teeth, and these plastic trays are changed approximately every two weeks.

Looks - For looks, Invisalign is the way to go. Many choose the plastic aligners option because they don’t want to drastically change their physical appearance. Seeing that these are practically invisible, there is very little change to your look.

Timeframe - It really depends on the severity of the patient’s case. There is a dental appointment every two weeks, which is vastly different than the typical dental appointment every six to eight weeks for traditional braces.
